Espero realmente que você, car@ leitor@, saiba inglês nesse momento único.

Até um tempo atrás eu achava que todas as músicas do Blind Guardian eram iguaizinhas, mas como é a banda preferida do Lúcio, eu insisti. Peguei os álbuns que eu não tinha no pc com o Lúcio, criei uma playlist com as músicas no iPod e coloquei as letras pra aprender a cantar junto. Aos poucos fui escutando e selecionando as músicas que mais me agradaram. E na viagem de volta para Beagá nesse domingo, dia do meio ambiente, fiquei ouvindo e acompanhando as letras das músicas. Como a banda é alemã com letras em inglês, não esperava nada muito elaborado (embora o inglês do Kürsch seja perfeito). Para minha surpresa, o Kürsch faz letras realmente boas, com temas interessantes como a Guerra de Tróia (And Then There Was Silence), modo de vida viking (Skalds and Shadows) e, quem diria, Peter Pan/Finding Neverland (Fly).

Não, isso não me traz lembranças de infância. Só fui ler Peter Pan na adolescência. Talvez seja por isso que tenha me chamado tanto a atenção. E a música não faz referência apenas ao livro do James Matthew Barrie, como também ao filme Finding Neverland. Pra quem boiou agora porque não sabe inglês, vou dar uma colher de chá:

Mudei minha opinião sobre Blind Guardian depois dessa. E além de tudo, a música é toda bonita, com os andamentos no lugar certo, o som todo preenchido com backing vocals e pianos, a simetria...
